How Our Team Stays Fit, Professionally and Personally

At TeamWRX, we understand the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between personal and professional life. In celebration of Global Employee Health and Fitness Month this May, we’re sharing some of our team’s best practices for staying fit, both personally and professionally. By focusing on overall wellness, we aim to empower our team and foster a thriving work environment.

Personal Wellness – Staying Healthy in Body and Mind

Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep are key components of personal wellness. Research shows that incorporating these healthy habits into your daily routine can boost energy, productivity, and overall well-being.

Our team members are no strangers to personal fitness. For instance, Melesa Gulisano from our Atlanta Branch enjoys doing deadlifts to stay active and relieve stress, saying that deadlifts help to work every muscle group. “Working out every morning helps set your day up for success. No matter what has happened that day you have already done something productive. Trying not to quit every day is super hard – I don’t ever want quitting to become a habit,” she says. “I love the quote from Vince Lombardi, ‘Once you learn to quit, it becomes a habit.’”

In addition to physical exercise, mental health is equally important. Many of our employees, like Gabriel Jones from the Marketing team, practice mindfulness and meditation to maintain a balanced state of mind. “Just taking 10 minutes a day to put away your phone, get outside, and clear your mind really helps to create a peace that can wash away a stressful day,” Gabriel explains.

Professional Wellness – Cultivating a Healthy Career

A healthy career goes beyond achieving professional success. It also involves maintaining a positive work environment, building strong relationships with colleagues, and engaging in continuous learning and development.

At TeamWRX, we encourage our employees to set personal and professional goals and offer resources and support to help them achieve these objectives. Our Account Managers and Employee Success Manager work tirelessly to ensure that our team members are reaching their goals to grow at TeamWRX and beyond. 

We also emphasize the importance of mentorship and supportive leadership within our organization. Our leaders are committed to guiding and nurturing the talents of their team members, helping them reach their full potential. Our team does bi-weekly Coach’s Corners, where senior team members help coach junior team members and grow their professional skills. Brendi King, our Branch Manager in Savannah, shares the impact of our Coach’s Corner on her professional growth: “Our Coach’s Corner has impacted me more than I thought it could. I was truly surprised by how much knowledge was given and the true potential I had within myself.  As Bob Proctor once said, “A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you.” That’s what my mentor has done for me and what I strive to do for others.”

Finally, we place a strong emphasis on skill development and internal growth. We foster a culture of continuous improvement and commitment by providing our employees with opportunities to learn and advance within the company. Esperanza Colmenero’s journey within our organization is a prime example of this. Starting as an associate, Esperanza’s dedication and hard work led her to become one of our best recruiters before being promoted to Account Manager.

Esperanza shares her experience: “Transitioning to a new role presented me with many challenges that initially seemed daunting. However, I was determined to make the most of this opportunity and committed to working hard to adapt to my new responsibilities. Over time, I gained a better understanding of my new role and was able to approach my work with a fresh perspective. As a result, I was able to identify new opportunities for improvement and make meaningful contributions to the team. This experience taught me the value of being adaptable and open to change, and helped me grow both personally and professionally.”
